This project endeavours to map the lineage, history and lives of two British families; the Webbs from Wales and the Toughs from Scotland. Both families developed strong ties with Buildwas Park in Shropshire.
About me
My name is Sandra Hardwick but was born a Webb in Worcester in 1961. I now live in Winterslow near Salisbury with my husband Chris (who built the website).
Website origins
This story begins when I was going through my late father's paperwork, I found a large envelope containing family history information sent by one Dave Tough in Shropshire. This peaked my interest and I contacted Dave and the project began (all your fault Dave!).
Supported by his considerable input, the research developed into a huge project indentifying hundreds of ancestors from England, Scotland and Wales, visiting lovely Shropshire locations, meeting many new friends and of course, relatives.
The website presents comprehensive social, historic and geographical data in an uncluttered way to provide simple navigation through the pages.
How to use the website
1. Family trees
This is the familiar format of presenting lineage as a cascading series of panels and links. The visitor may start at the bottom of this page by selecting which family to investigate. Both family trees are extensive, so horizontal and vertical scrolling bars are provided to help navigation.
2. The Directory
A full listing of all subjects featured on the Family Trees.
3. Individual profiles
The Family Tree will present links to the personal profile of the chosen subject.
4. Image galleries
These will display family photos, locations, documents and other information.
5. Locations
Presenting locations relative to both families and in some cases, notable people who lived there.
